About Me

My husband Cory and I both graduated from Lincoln Christian School and are so thankful for the solid foundation we received here! Cory teaches architecture and engineering at North Star High School. We have three sons who graduated from LCS and two granddaughters. After earning a bachelor’s degree in math from UNL, I worked from home for 12 years, while raising our kids. I then went to Doane University, earning a Masters of Education in curriculum and instruction while starting my teaching career at Lincoln Christian. Most recently, I completed 18 hours of graduate math work at UNL, qualifying me to be an adjunct instructor through Southeast Community College; this allows LCS students to earn dual-credit in their upper-level math courses. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach in a place where I can openly share my faith with the students and grow together with them. My free time is spent enjoying our granddaughters, attending sporting events at school, walking, biking, and leading and participating in Women’s Bible studies.

Philosophy

As an LCS graduate, I appreciate the impact that a Christian school can have on students’ lives. As a mom/grandma, I love knowing that each subject taught at Lincoln Christian is taught through the lens of God’s Word. As a teacher, I take that charge seriously, desiring that my students will understand that all Truth originates from God. I believe that God created mathematics as the language for our universe and also for our enjoyment. I am saddened by the culture of negativity often associated with math, where some students believe it’s not fun or cool to study math. While I realize that not all students will love math, I do believe that every student can appreciate its beauty, importance and usefulness in their lives and as a result come to worship the Creative God who ordered our universe!
