About Me

I treasure my relationship with Christ above all else. His unceasing love for the world and position as Redeemer defines my yearning to be a pure and spotless Bride. Family life as married with five children has been a wonderful journey and I’m extremely grateful for the calling of wife and mother. My professional journey includes numerous translator roles throughout my college years and beyond, serving my family and community as a home educator, working for Children, Youth, Familes and Schools at UNL, and now teaching at LCS. My hobbies include a love for tennis, playing guitar and piano, spending time outdoors, cooking/baking, thrifting, and bubble tea.

Philosophy

My philosophy of education originates from my educational background, the practice of teaching, lived experiences, and my heart to see Christ exalted in the nations. There are two primary components which allow language acquisition to occur: meaning making and learning within a context. When content is meaningful to a student, it allows for improved retention due to interest in the subject matter. When engagement occurs within a context, it provides the maximum opportunity for the student to develop mastery. In my classroom, I ensure my commitment to students by enacting these two components to strengthen my teaching methods and enhance the learning experience. Above all is the importance of building trusting relationships, which we do in a variety of ways through interaction, games, and frequent one-on-one instruction. My favorite part of teaching is creating a dynamic curriculum to foster a love for learning, leadership growth, and a wide variety of relevant activities for my students. The most significant part of teaching at LCS is aligning cultural practices with God’s word as we study five different countries throughout the year. It is my hope and joy to scaffold discipleship through a commitment to extending meaning in one’s journey with Christ while being rooted in a strong foundation of biblical integration.
