About Me

KC and I were married at a young age and God used some tough circumstances (KC’s health) early on to grow us in our relationship with each other and more importantly in our relationship with Him. I quickly learned to put myself aside and desired to be the husband and father that God wanted me to be. After graduating from Nebraska Wesleyan, God provided an opportunity to teach and coach at Lincoln Christian where I think God has groomed me and given me valuable life on life training and experiences with students and their families. I also served in full-time ministry as the Jr & Sr High Youth Pastor for six years. God has put some great people in my life who have been catalysts in helping me grow spiritually and developing me in the area of leadership. I’m thankful that God chooses plain, ordinary, and weak people (like me) in His plan and it is simply by His amazing grace that I am where I am doing what I love to do. This is my 20th year of teaching and coaching at Lincoln Christian.

My wife KC and I have been married for 29 years this December. We have three children: Andre (26) who is married to Erin, Mariah (23), and Isaiah (17). My hobbies include; barbering, music, fishing, reading, web/graphic design and BBQ.

Church: Heritage Bible Church

Volunteer Roles: Part-time Youth Leader, Small Group Leader/Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Elder at Heritage Bible Church

Philosophy of Education

I was seven years old when I understood my sin. By God’s grace, I believed that I was saved through faith in Jesus Christ and His work at the cross for the forgiveness of my sin and eternal life.

I’m thankful that I was able to grow up in a Christian home, attend a Christian School, and go to Bible teaching churches for most of my early life. Unfortunately, being familiar with the outward forms of being a Christian proved to be dangerous for me as I learned to settle for the “form”, or outer shell, or surface of godliness, but not the inner man. However, I became tired of playing the games and going through the Christian motions as the Spirit of God continued to work on my heart as a high school student who knew what to say and how to act but had a lot of maturing to do.

I believe that the cure for my own spiritual apathy and boredom was found when I humbled myself and allowed the Spirit to change and work on my heart. It’s not enough that I held to correct doctrine, and maintained a proper outward form of godliness. What was going on in my heart? That is the question I had to ask and answer honestly with myself…and that is what God looks at. I also believe that learning to put others before self and keeping God above all were important steps for me spiritually.

I’m passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ (doctrines of salvation) and Worldview/Apologetics. I pray that God uses me to train and equip the students that I have in these areas of emphasis as they learn to make their faith their own.
