About Me

When I’m not working on my master’s degree, grading papers, or directing little thespians, I’m most likely reading or writing poetry, playing the piano, or keeping up with our busy family. My husband of 27 years works with Haberfeld Associates and enjoys planning family adventures with the free hotel points he earns. We have been blessed with three daughters: Haley (22) is a senior in the Nursing Program at Nebraska Wesleyan and works as a CNA at Madonna; Grace (20) is a junior in the Music Education Department at the University of Northwestern at St. Paul; and Caroline (18) is a senior at Lincoln East. Our family loves coffee shops, loud music, and is prone to raucous laughter and spontaneous dancing in the kitchen.

Philosophy of Education

My theme verse for the drama department also drives me in the classroom. Each and every student in my reach is “God’s masterpiece,” “created anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Eph. 2:10). My job, then, is to help students discover their gifts, grow in areas of weakness, and approach literature and language through the light and life of God’s word.
