Part-time Maintenance Assistant

The Maintenance Assistant supports the Director of Maintenance by assisting with daily facility upkeep, preventive maintenance tasks, grounds care, and work order tracking. This role exists to provide additional hands-on support so that the school campus remains safe, clean, and operationally excellent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with general repairs and maintenance of school buildings
  • Support electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and basic mechanical repairs under direction
  • Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and routine inspections
  • Help maintain playgrounds, athletic fields, track areas, etc.
  • Track maintenance requests, document the status of work orders to ensure timely completion and clear communication
  • Help monitor, update, and organize maintenance request systems to support accountability
  • Assist with floor care and seasonal facility preparation
  • Respond to maintenance requests as directed by the Director of Maintenance
  • Support event setup and teardown as needed
  • Assist with inventory management and organization of maintenance supplies
  • Assist with snow removal, including shoveling, operating snow blowers, and applying de-icing materials
  • Help inspect and maintain maintenance equipment and report issues
  • Maintain a positive and responsive customer service attitude with staff and faculty
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Director of Operations

Qualifications

  • A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity and alignment with the mission of LCS
  • Basic maintenance experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of tools and equipment used in building and grounds maintenance
  • Willingness to learn and serve
  • Strong work ethic and team player mindset
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Valid Nebraska driver’s license
  • First Aid and CPR AED certification preferred or willingness to obtain
